Kathmandu, December 10: A high-level team of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) visited the 140 MW Tanahun Hydropower Project under construction on the Seti River in Tanahun.
ADB's Nepal Resident Mission Director Arnod Kushwa and NEA's Executive Director and Tanahu Hydropower Limited were also present on the occasion. A team led by Kulman Ghising, chairman of the board of directors, inspected the project site on Monday and took stock of the progress of the project.
The team has inspected the construction of 140-meter main high dam under package-1, underground power house, hydro-mechanical and electromechanical equipment under package-2 and main tunnel construction site. The team held detailed discussions with the company and project management, consultants and builders and took information about the progress of the construction, problems being faced, construction schedule and so on.
Chief District Officer of Tanahun Shyam Krishna Thapa, Assistant Chief District Officer, Chief of Survey Office and representatives of the Land Revenue Office were also attended in the interaction. A team including the Chief District Officer was requested for necessary assistance and facilitation to resolve the land-related problems.
