Dr Rajesh Ahiraj is the former province chief of the No 2 Province. He was assigned as the chief of the province for a short period. UML had appointed him to the post of the province chief and along with toppling down of the Oli-led government, he was terminated by the present alliance government. 

Ahiraj is a scholar who did his PhD on the Tarai agitation. After naming the Mahesh Pradesh to the No 2 province, Ahiraj, who represents the Tarai community, has claimed that this is the beginning of the separation of the Tarai districts from Nepal, and Upendra Yadav and Baburam Bhattarai have become successful on the mission assigned them by foreign elements. 

In interviews with different television channels, including the Delta Bravo show run by Bhushan Dahal, Ahiraj said that by naming Madhesh, the political parties have humiliated the ethnic indigenous communities Mithali, Bhojpuri, and King Janak. 

He again repeated that the leaders have become dealers of the foreign powers. 

“This is the victory day for those elements who are being used by the foreign powers to split Nepal in the name of ethnicity. This has invited class conflict in Nepal for a long time”, he said.
