
Kathmandu, December 16: The Patan High Court has refused to release Prateek Thapa and Bechan Jha, who are in judicial jail on the fake Bhutanese refugee case. The Patan High Court of the joint bench judges Anju Upreti Dhakal and Kailash Prasad Subedi has refused to release Thapa and Jha, who were sent to prison for pre-trial detention by the District Court Kathmandu for fraud, forgery, and organized crime. Thapa is the son of former Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal.
The bench of Kathmandu District Court judge Tirtharaj KC had ordered to keep them under judicial arrest for preliminary investigation.
Arjun Prasad Acharya, information officer of the court, said that the High Court also upheld the order of the district.
