Kathmandu, August 27: Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli is paying a visit to the People's Republic of China from 30 August to 3 September at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2025 and the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

According to the Foreign Ministry statement released today, the PM will be accompanied by his spouse Radhika Shakya.

The PM is scheduled to meet with President Xi Jinpin in Tianjin. The PM will address the SCO Plus Summit in Tianjin on 1 September.

On the sidelines of SCO Summit, the PM will meet some world leaders attending the Summit.

Likewise, the PM will meet with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng in Beijing on 2 September. The Prime Minister will also participate in commemorative events to be organized in Beijing to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War on 3 September.

The entourage of the PM will comprise of Raghuji Pant, Minister for Education, Science and Technology; Badri Prasad Pandey, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation; Purna Bahadur Khadka, Member of the Parliament; Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada, Economic and Development Advisor to the Prime Minister; Chhabilal Bishwakarma, Member of Parliament; and high-ranking government officials.

The PM and his delegation will return to Kathmandu on 3 September.

According to sources, Nepal will make efforts to become a full member of the SCO. Currently, Nepal is a dialogue partner in the SCO.
