
Kathmandu, August 14: Maoist leader Revatraj Puri has been convicted in the Gagan Damak government land scam case in Jhapa District.Puri was found guilty of running a gang that transferred government land in Damak in the name of individuals. The special court has held that in two cases, 13 government employees were involved in the business of transferring public land in the name of individuals.The court also fined him Rs 31,52,55,978 in one case and Rs 20,83,671 in another case.The court also sentenced him to one year in prison. Government land that he had grabbed and sold will also be confiscated.The court noted that Puri, during his deposition, had also admitted to his involvement in the registration of government public land.People’s News Monitoring Service.
