Kathmandu, August 3: Vice-Chair of the National Assembly Bimala Ghimire has expressed the belief that the resolution passed by the third National Congress of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) recently would create new opportunities for global development and prosperity.
Speaking at a symposium on the “3rd National Congress of the 20th Central Committee of CPC: Sharing Development Opportunities with Nepal” organised by Friends of Silk Road Club Nepal here on Friday, she said the proposal was focused on building a common future not only for China but also for mankind.
Ghimire said, “The goal of high-quality green development and shared prosperity will take cooperation with friendly countries like Nepal to a new height.” She said the concept of “building a common future for mankind” proposed by the Chinese president has great meaning and significance in the context of the need for the global community to unite to address climate change and slow economic growth, which have emerged as global challenges.
“Our cooperation should not be limited to bilateral initiatives, we should set up a multi-dimensional forum to address global challenges,” Ghimire said, adding that China and Nepal should advocate for a just global order in global forums including the United Nations, Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which can respect the sovereignty, development and rights of all nations. Stating that the road to a common world is not challenging, she stressed the need to work with honesty, mutual respect and a shared vision.
