The Marsyangdi Project is winding up. The Millions that have been spent on construction equipment have to be disposed.
Here lies the problem, having added to the project, the cost of equipment were brought in, as per agreement, duty-free. They have been used for the construction of the dam and the project site. They cannot be sold duty-free within the country. They can be taken back because of the expense. And, the tremendous customs and duties that are levied on such items make their sale after duty beyond the reach of Nepalese buyers.
