Kathmandu, August 1: Former Prince Hridayendra Shah has recently released a vlog on his Jumla visit.

On the occasion of his 23rd birthday, former Prince Hridayendra Shah released a vlog covering his visit to Jumla.
The vlog titled ‘My Trip to Jumla’, which was made public from his Facebook page, has created a stir on social media in a short time. Many people are openly praising his efforts and the humble and simple nature seen in his vlogs.
In a voiceover in English, Hridayendra explains the purpose of his journey. “There are many places to visit in Nepal and this is one of them. I am coming here for the first time.”
In the vlog, he has tried to present the natural beauty, cultural and local life in Jumla, a remote district.
While roaming in Jumla market, Hridayendra enters a common coffee shop ‘Black Stone Bakery’. There he talks to a young entrepreneur who has been running a bakery in Jumla for 8 years after leaving Kathmandu.
The young man seems to be impressed by Jumla’s return to the idea of ‘better to do something in his place’. He enjoys the taste of local produce.
Hridayendra also visited the Karnali Technical School. In a conversation with Maman Upadhyay, a student there, he learns that subjects such as pharmacy, agriculture, civil engineering and health assistant are taught in the school and it has played an important role in connecting the youth of Karnali to employment.
Another interesting aspect of the vlog is his interviews with the local culture. He meets Panchakali Budha, a local girl in Dudul Chaitya (Gumba). “Welcoming him, she recites the word-filled folk song”, “Jumla flourishes paddy paddy, in the highest place in the world…” “A group of local women also welcomed him by singing traditional songs.
During his visit, he also seems to have learned about the difficult situation of the Karnali highway, the Sinja Valley, the origin of the Nepali (Khas) language, the abundant potential of Marsi rice and organic apples, and the importance of tourist destinations such as Rara and She-Phoksundo.
In the vlog, he can be seen mingling with the locals while capturing the beauty of the twins on camera.
