
Kathmandu, Sept 13: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has urged the public not to buy or sell historical documents, papers, valuables, or weapons.
In a press release issued Friday, the CIB said that during protests on September 8 and 9, government and private buildings, banks, and financial institutions were looted. Historical documents, valuables, weapons, and cash were reportedly taken and put on the market. The CIB and other police offices are investigating.
The bureau asked the public to report any information about such items to the nearest security authority and warned that buying, selling, or possessing looted property is punishable under the law.
The bureau also requested that anyone with information on such items report to the nearest security authority. It further warned that possessing, buying, or selling stolen or looted items will be punishable under the prevailing law.
