Kathmandu, March 31: The Health Insurance Board has warned that hospitals and health institutions that delay providing health insurance services or fail to offer necessary facilities to patients will face legal action.
During the delivery of services under the insurance program, some healthcare providers caused difficulties for insured patients or failed to provide services. In response, the Board has urged institutions to ensure smooth access to healthcare.
The Board noted concerns over hospitals requiring advance appointments for insurance services, treating insured patients unequally, and not providing essential services or medicines.
It has warned all health institutions against engaging in activities that violate the Health Insurance Act, 2017 (2074 BS), the Health Insurance Regulations, 2018 (2075 BS), and other applicable laws.
Executive Director Krishna Prasad Paudel stated that if monitoring finds any healthcare provider acting against the rules, action will be taken according to the Health Insurance Act, 2017 (2074 BS).
