Prime Minister Mon Mohan Adhikari is playing an official visit to China and India. Though both the neighbours are of equal importance to us, Nepal-China ties are marketed by utmost trust, consistency, mutual understanding and cooperation while those with India are characterized by distrust and apprehension to the extent that every sensible Nepali believes India is prepared to write off Nepal’s sovereignty.
Most problems that Nepal faces today are created by India. Hence, the prime minister’s visit to India should lead to a sorting out of those problems in Nepal’s favors. If that is not possible, the prime Minister should return to Kathmandu empty-handed, rather than complying with India’s insatiable demands.
