Kathmandu, Feb 13. Rajendra Lingden, chairperson of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, has objected to the prohibitory order imposed around the airport area.

The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has issued a prohibitory order within the premises of Tribhuvan International Airport, effective from February 13 for a period of one month.

The administration stated that the order was issued after certain groups and political parties released statements regarding activities in the airport vicinity.

Expressing his dissatisfaction, Lingden questioned, “Is the prohibitory order issued by the District Administration Office meant to prevent the election from being disrupted, or is it intended to disrupt it itself?”

He also raised concerns about the arbitrary use of constitutional provisions, asking who would comply with such orders if the constitution and constitutional arrangements are applied at will.

“If the constitution and constitutional provisions start being used arbitrarily, who will obey such prohibitory orders?” he wrote on social media.

Royalist groups have announced that former king Gyanendra Shah is scheduled to arrive via the airport tomorrow and have organized various programs to mark the occasion.

They have also appealed to supporters to participate in those events.
