
Kathmandu, Feb 2: Gold and silver prices fell again in the Nepali market on Monday, extending a downward trend that began last Friday.
According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association, gold prices have dropped sharply over the past three days. On Friday, the price fell by Rs 20,500 per tola, followed by a further drop of Rs 18,800 on Sunday. On Monday, gold declined by another Rs 13,400 per tola. In total, the price has fallen by Rs 52,700 per tola in just three days.
Gold had been trading at Rs 300,000 per tola on Sunday. On Monday, the price slipped to Rs 286,600 per tola.
Silver prices also recorded a notable fall on Monday. Silver, which was traded at Rs 5,500 per tola on Sunday, declined to Rs 5,200 per tola. This marks a drop of Rs 305 per tola compared to the previous day.
In the international market, gold was trading at USD 4,673 per ounce on Monday.
The continued fall in precious metal prices has drawn attention from traders and buyers alike, as the domestic market reacts to movements in global rates.
