Kathmandu, Jan 27. Chairman Rajendra Lingden of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party has said the party will not enter into any electoral alliance or seat-sharing deal in the upcoming election.
Speaking during the campaign in his home district of Jhapa, Lingden said the party’s only alliance is with the people and that RPP will contest the election on its own.
His statement comes amid talk in recent days that RPP could reach an electoral understanding with parties including the CPN UML in Jhapa. Lingden dismissed such speculation. “Our policy has been clear from the start. We will fight the election alone, in alliance with the people,” he said.
Lingden said the party is moving forward by placing public trust at the center of its politics. He added that RPP has fielded candidates in all 165 constituencies across the country, except in a few places where nominations had to be canceled or withdrawn due to technical reasons.
