
Janakpurdham, Jan 25: A massive Madhes rally organised by Nepali Congress in Janakpurdham on January 30, 2026, has been postponed following the enforcement of the Election Commission’s code of conduct.
Nitesh Kumar Gupta, head of the Madhes Province publicity department, said the program was deferred to fully comply with the commission’s directives and the code of conduct. A new date and schedule will be announced later, depending on the situation.
Gupta added that the Nepali Congress respects the commission’s decision while remaining committed to democratic values and legal procedures.
The Madhes Province committee of Congress had decided in a Saturday meeting to hold the public assembly at Chirahotiya on January 30, 2026.
