Kathmandu, January 25: Fifteen founding leaders of the Ujyalo Nepal Party (UNP), led by Kulman Ghising, have stated that they are no longer in the party.

Dr. Bishal Bhandari, Nirdesh Silwal, Dr. Abhishek Raj Singh, and Sanjeev Bhattarai, among 15 others, announced collectively that they are no longer associated with the party.

“We, the members of Ujyalo Nepal, declare that we have separated from the Ujyalo Nepal Party. We will remain actively engaged on the basis of ideas, values, and citizens’ concerns with immediate effect. We request that this be understood not as support for or opposition to any political party, but as an exercise in civic awareness and the pursuit of common interests,” the statement said.

Those who have separated from the party include central leaders Sujan Shrestha, Kushum Ghimire, Dr. Ghanshyam Pandey, Kshitij Bhandari, Dr. Sagar Dhakal, Netra Karki, Bishal Gaire, Sarala Lamichhane, Minraj Acharya, Rajiya Banu, and Devendra Shrestha.
