The writ petition was filed at the Supreme Court on Magh 9 against the Election Commission’s decision to cancel Chaudhary’s candidacy. The commission had decided to revoke his nomination, stating that his conviction and prison record remain valid. He had filed his candidacy from Kailali Constituency No. 1.
