
Kathmandu, January 24: The Communist Party of Nepali has expelled seven leaders and cadres from the party on the charge of filing candidacies against the party’s decisions and directives.
The party said that disciplinary action was taken in accordance with Article 106 of the party statute against those who became candidates in constituencies where the party had already fielded official candidates for the general election to be held on March 5, as well as against those who acted as proposers, supporters, and campaigners for such candidates.
Those expelled from the party include Haribol Gajurel and Maheshwar Dahal of Sindhuli; Kul Prasad KC of Dang Constituency No. 4; Major Rai of Udayapur; and Dharmanath Shah, Rajkumari Shah, and Jibachh Shah of Siraha.
In a statement issued by party co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal and coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda,” it was stated that activities contrary to the party’s decisions would not be acceptable.
