The third session of the Parliament commenced in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu this week on a rather “calm” note.
Members of the bicameral House appear to have decided not to give any newsy or sensational angle to journalists.
Both Speaker Daman Nath Dhungana and Chairman Beni Bahadur Karki had easy sailing on the first day of Parliament. The same was true on the second day. The third day was not different. There was no zero hour.
Opposition party NCP-UML member Madan Bahadur Bhandari was the first speaker to make comments on the programs and policies of the government.
Bhandari, a noted orator, took one hour to speak. The time usually reserved for the opposition leader was utilized by him.
