Kathmandu, Jan 12: Rastriya Prajatantra Party chair Rajendra Lingden said Prithvi Jayanti inspires people to strengthen national unity and patriotism.

Speaking at a program organized by the party on Sunday to mark the 304th Prithvi Jayanti, Lingden said the nation should remember Prithvi Narayan Shah’s role in unifying the country and learn from his ideals to build Nepal as a strong and stable state.

He said all Nepalis should treat Prithvi Jayanti as an occasion to respect history and deepen a sense of national pride.

“There is a need to protect the country’s history, civilization, and spirit of national unity, and to further strengthen independence and national identity. By learning from Shah’s farsighted vision and courage, we should work to strengthen social and economic change, the national economy, and culture,” he said.

According to the RPP, a tea reception held on the occasion was attended by the prime minister, ministers, leaders from various political parties, and representatives of diplomatic missions.
