Kathmandu, December 18: Newly elected CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has urged Prime Minister Sushila Karki to step aside if she is unable to hold elections.
Addressing the gathering after taking the oath of office and secrecy on Thursday, he said, “If you can, prepare for the elections; if not, make way.”
Claiming that they were betrayed on Bhadau 24, he instructed party leaders and cadres to form security units in every neighborhood. Expressing a lack of trust in the state machinery, he added, “We may be deceived. We must ensure our own security. We must maintain peace and security ourselves.”
He also directed that security teams be formed within a week. “Form security teams within a week; threats may come in the name of Gen Z,” he said.
