Kathmandu, November 29: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has instructed the concerned officials to finalize the draft of the agreement being prepared between the government and Gen-Z by Monday.

During a discussion held with Gen-Z leaders at Singha Durbar on Friday, PM Karki said the draft should not be delayed any further and urged them to conclude it quickly. The Gen-Z leadership submitted an 11-point proposed draft to the PM, stating that it was necessary to institutionalize the achievements of their movement.

PM Karki assured that since the agreement is a political document, the Council of Ministers would take full responsibility for it. She also indicated clearly that, if necessary, she herself would take all responsibilities related to signing the agreement.

Although Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Sports Minister Bablu Gupta, and others participated in Friday’s discussion, it could not reach a conclusion.

Gen-Z representatives reiterated their demands that the events of Bhadra 23 and 24 be recognized as a people’s movement, that individuals related to those incidents should not be prosecuted, and that there should be an investigation and action regarding the government’s repression during those events.

A detailed discussion regarding the draft prepared by Gen-Z had also been held earlier on Kartik 28.
