Kathmandu, November 14: The commission formed to investigate the incidents of September 8 and 9 (Bhadra 23–24) has recommended that the government impose travel restrictions on outgoing IGP Chandrakuber Khapung. Earlier, the then-prime minister, the then-home minister, and senior officials were restricted from traveling abroad.
On Thursday, the commission recommended that the government bar outgoing Inspector General of Police Chandrakuver Khapung from traveling abroad and make arrangements to prevent him from leaving the Kathmandu Valley without permission.
The commission decided to restrict Khapung on the very day he retired from the post of IGP. It stated that since he may need to appear before the commission at any time for inquiry, it has recommended restricting his travel.
