Kathmandu, November 11: A car bomb exploded near the Red Fort metro station in Delhi, India, on Monday evening, killing nine people and injuring 24 others.

Following the incident, security measures across Delhi have been tightened, according to Indian media reports.

The blast was so powerful that six nearby cars, two e-rickshaws, and an auto-rickshaw caught fire.

According to police, there were three people inside the car at the time of the explosion. The car was found to be registered under the name of a man named Salman from Gurugram, Haryana.

Police have taken Salman into custody. He reportedly sold the car to Tariq from Pulwama, who is currently being searched for.
