Kathmandu, Oct 14: The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has warned that any activity involving the use of Prime Minister Sushila Karki’s name to collect or promote fundraising will be brought under legal action.
It said attention has been drawn to reports that some individuals or groups have been seeking donations or support for various projects, funds, or social activities by invoking the name of Prime Minister Karki or the Prime Minister’s Office.
According to the Under Secretary and Spokesperson of the Office, Rabilal Sharma, no person has been authorized to collect donations or financial support on behalf of the Prime Minister or the Office.
Spokesperson Sharma, through a press release, urged the public not to believe such misleading activities and to reject any such solicitation outright.
The statement further requested the public to report to the local police if they come across anyone using the Prime Minister’s name to raise funds or encourage such activities.
