Kathmandu: The transaction limit for ATM withdrawals issued by banks and financial institutions has been reduced. Nepal Rastra Bank, through an amendment to the Integrated Payment System Directive 2081 on Friday, lowered the per-transaction limit to Rs 20,000 from the previous Rs 25,000.

Customers can now withdraw up to Rs 50,000 per day and a maximum of Rs 300,000 per month. Earlier, the limits were Rs 100,000 per day and Rs 400,000 per month.

The transaction limits for prepaid cards remain unchanged: Rs 10,000 per transaction, Rs 20,000 per day, and Rs 200,000 per month.
