Kathmandu, September 20: Gen Z activists have demanded the immediate arrest of outgoing Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, outgoing Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and Kathmandu’s Chief District Officer Chhavi Rijal.

In a press conference held at Sambad Dabli in Kathmandu on Friday, Gen Z activists alleged that the state power was misused to suppress the movement and demanded action against those involved in misuse and suppression of the demonstrators.

Dr. Nicholas Bhusal, advisor of the Gen-Z movement, suggested that the constitution should be amended with the provision of a directly elected executive prime minister.

He also demanded the formation of a high-level commission to investigate the assets of all high-ranking leaders and employees who came to power after 2046.

The injured Hari Adhikari of Gen Z movement said that they raised their voice against the misrule prevailing in the society. “We are not on the streets for any personal gains,” he said, adding that the movement will not stop if the demands are not met.

Nargis Thapa, a representative of the martyred families, warned that the government should move forward without insulting the price paid by their families. “We must understand the value of our family’s blood,” she said, adding that “we will not tolerate injustice in the name of peace.”
