Kathmandu, Sept 12: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said he is determined to move forward by forming a powerful commission against corruption and against the suppression and violence that took place during the protests. Writing on social media, he said, “We are firmly in favor of forming one commission against suppression and destruction and another against corruption.”
This statement came after Desh Sanchar reported that leaders of the three parties had rejected the proposal to form commissions against suppression during the Gen Z movement and against corruption in the course of forming the interim government. Following this, proposed Prime Minister Sushila Karki was reported to have responded, saying, “I do not want a responsibility that comes with my hands and feet tied.”
