Prime Minister Girija appears to have triggered a major party squabble in his choice of new ministers for a reshuffled cabinet.
Both party president, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, and spremo Ganesh Man Singh, have come out in public with their disappointments, accusing the Prime Minister of highhandedness and ignoring party sentiments.
One source has it that the Prime Minister made no consultations regarding the new appointments and had only briefly mentioned to Bhattarai his decision to go ahead with the change. A latter message from Bhattarai requesting a postponement was either unheeded by the Prime Minister or did not reach it on time, it is said.
Even party seniors now allege that the India ambassador was well informed about the cabinet change, whereas the party hierarchy was not.
