Kathmandu, Sept 1: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India’s relations with Nepal are special.
He made the remarks after a brief meeting with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Tianjin, China, where both leaders are attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.
“Happy to meet Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Oli in Tianjin. India’s ties with Nepal are deep and special,” Modi posted on X along with a photo with Oli.
The meeting came at a sensitive time after India and China agreed to resume trade via Lipulekh, a territory claimed by Nepal, which sparked tension between Kathmandu and New Delhi. Oli is scheduled to visit India after completing his China trip. People’s News Monitoring Service
