
Kathmandu, September 1: The Chinese government is set to upgrade the Civil Servants Hospital to “state of art” building. A delegation from the Chinese government stayed at the hospital for two weeks to conduct a feasibility study and upgrade the hospital to a 'state of the art building'.
Executive Director of the hospital, Prof. Dr. Mohan Chandra Regmi, informed that the Chinese government will build an additional 200 beds for the 'third phase' of the hospital as a 'state of the art building'. Earlier, the Chinese government had built 132 beds under the 'first phase' of the hospital and 300 beds under the 'second phase'.
According to him, a team from the Chinese government to look into building projects in Nepal has just returned after conducting a feasibility study.
An agreement has been reached between the governments of Nepal and China to upgrade the Civil Servant Hospital. Now, a Chinese team has come to conduct a feasibility study. In the study, the Chinese team has already prepared a report stating that the hospital needs to be expanded.
He said, "The Chinese government itself has started upgrading civil hospitals to include hospitals with specialized services and to increase educational programs."
He said that the construction work of the building will proceed as soon as the Chinese team submits its report to the concerned authorities in China. The Chinese government is going to upgrade the hospital as it is well-organized in an open space and the treatment services are good," he said. "As per the agreement between the Nepal and Chinese governments, the construction work will begin within the next one year. A state-of-the-art building will be built."
