Kathmandu, August 31: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, held a bilateral meeting in Tianjin, China.

The meeting took place today between the two Prime Ministers, who are in Tianjin to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that various aspects of cultural, diplomatic, and economic relations and cooperation between the two countries were discussed during the meeting.
PM Chinh recalled Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan's recent visit to Nepal and invited Prime Minister Oli to visit Vietnam. 
Expressing Nepal's solidarity with Vietnam's struggle for independence, PM Oli said that the progress made by the country in a short period of time is inspiring for all.
Oli informed that Nepal will be upgraded to a developing country next year and called for investment in the energy sector, which will yield substantial returns. He also invited his counterpart Chinh to visit Nepal. The meeting was attended by ministers, parliamentarians, and high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who were part of the visiting delegation.
