Rautahat, Aug 24: Police in Gaur have recovered the body of a woman stuffed inside a suitcase abandoned near Mudwalwa Gate in Ward 9 of Gaur Municipality.

The suitcase, tied with a rope, was first spotted on the roadside Saturday night. A police team led by DSP Rajan Karki of the District Police Office opened it Sunday morning and found the body of a woman believed to be around 30 years old.

According to DSP Karki, the body had been crammed inside the suitcase. The woman has not been identified yet. After initial examination, police sent the body to Provincial Hospital Gaur for post-mortem.

Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from a nearby school to gather clues. DSP Karki said the investigation is ongoing.

This is the third body found in Rautahat this week. Earlier, police recovered the body of Upendra Bhagat from Saptari inside Nepal Lodge, and Sahabudin Mia was killed in a stabbing in Gaur-5. Now, the unidentified woman’s body adds another grim case in the district.
