Kathmandu, August 22: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that she was active in the communist movement long before the birth of the UML.
She said this while addressing the inaugural meeting of the liaison office on Thursday. "I am watching everything closely." "I am also affiliated with a political party, but when we started politics, the UML was not yet born," Bhandari said. I was born in Bhojpur, and there was a group called the Red Flag Group in Dhankuta. We were in contact with it. Gradually, a coordination center was born. That became ML. We spread the first message of ML's establishment in Bhojpur."
She also said that the UML is now trying to make it like a brand, saying that it is not what it is. Bhandari says that the Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) is formed because there is unity between the ML and Marxists.
Similarly, Bhandari pointed out that political parties have failed to establish good governance in the country. Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Madan Bhandari Foundation's liaison office, she said that the parliament itself is sitting idle.
