On August 15th, Russian President Putin met with US President Trump at an American Air Force base in Anchorage, the capital of Alaska, which is now part of the US. Putin stepped off the plane and onto the red carpet that Trump had specially prepared for him. When the hands of the two adversaries finally touched, a B-2 stealth bomber escorted by four F-22 stealth fighter jets flew overhead, and the deafening roar passed by. Beside the red carpet were four F-22 stealth fighter jets parked there. This was both a welcome and a deterrent.
This US-Russia summit has been widely regarded worldwide as having its primary issue being how to end the war between Ukraine and Russia.
If that's the case, it would be very interesting. One side of this war, Ukraine, was not present at the meeting, and another important party involved in the conflict, the European Union, was also absent from the meeting. That is to say, neither Ukraine nor the European Union sat at the table. Then, according to the formula given by the former US Secretary of State Blinken, "If you're not at the table, you must be on the menu," Ukraine and the European Union could only be on the menu.
Ukraine and EU countries, which are militarily completely or at least significantly dependent on the US, what can they do to avoid being put on the chopping block and eaten by others?
Personally, after much thought, I feel that Ukraine and EU countries really don't have any unique strategies to prevent themselves from being swallowed up. From this, it's not difficult for us to realize that the world has not yet emerged from the era of the jungle. The US, with its military hegemony and certain other military powerhouses, can really still arbitrarily divide the world.
However, at this moment, we should not forget that there is already a country in the world that can fully counterbalance the US in terms of military strength and other aspects. This country is China.
China has announced that to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Fascist War, a grand military parade will be held on September 3rd. Personally, I believe that this grand military parade is China's declaration to the world that it possesses the strength to fully counter the hegemony of the United States.
The recent US-Russia summit and the upcoming 9.3 military parade in China will mark the birth of a new world order after World War II.
Having a keen insight into this new global landscape and promptly formulating and implementing new strategies for survival and development will be an inevitable and significant historical task that every country in the world, including Nepal, must confront.
