Kathmandu, Aug 16: Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba highlighted the historic friendship, mutual trust, and cooperation between Nepal and India, emphasizing the need to strengthen these ties in the days ahead.

Speaking at an event organized by the Indian Embassy in Nepal on Friday in Lalitpur to mark India’s 79th Independence Day, she described India as a good neighbor to Nepal and discussed the many dimensions of the centuries-old relationship between the two countries.

Praising India’s remarkable economic journey, Minister Dr. Rana said the two nations should expand joint cooperation in trade, technology, infrastructure, and people-to-people aspirations. She noted that Nepal–India relations are not limited to geographic borders but are reinforced by shared knowledge of the Himalayas, rivers, and ancient civilizations, along with common culture and strong people-to-people ties.

Minister Dr. Rana also stressed that cooperation between the two countries will be increasingly important in the future for addressing climate change, sustainable development, and shared challenges.
