
Kathmandu, Aug 16: Salt Trading Corporation Limited has reported that 1.523 million bags of chemical fertilizers have arrived at the Kolkata port in India and are being rapidly transported to the corporation’s warehouses across Nepal.
The corporation recently imported a total of 1.523 million bags of chemical fertilizers, including 440,000 bags of urea and 1.083 million bags of DAP.
The corporation has already communicated with the provincial governments regarding the distribution of these fertilizers, and the provincial governments have allocated the quotas to the local municipalities.
In a statement released Friday, the corporation said, “All dealers registered with the corporation are requested to coordinate with their respective municipalities and the corporation offices to sell and distribute fertilizers according to the allocated quota.”
Amid news reports and social media posts about a shortage of chemical fertilizers in the market, the corporation noted that it is aware of the situation and monitoring it closely.
