Dharan, Aug 11: Three people were killed and 15 others injured when two vehicles collided head-on on the East-West Highway at Jaluwa Tol in Bhokraha Narsingh Rural Municipality-3, Sunsari.
According to Sunsari District Police Office spokesperson Yograj Khatri, a bus (Me 1 Kha 1799) heading from Kakarbhitta to Diktel and a microbus (Province 2-01-001 Ja 0047) coming from the opposite direction crashed this morning.
Police said the identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed. The injured are receiving treatment at hospitals in Inaruwa, Biratnagar Neuro, and Nobel Hospital.
Spokesperson Khatri said the bus driver, Gopal Adhikari of Arjundhara Municipality-1, Jhapa, has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
