Kathmandu, August 10: Noted literature scholar the late Dr Rajendra Subedi’s birth anniversary was observed in Kathmandu on Friday amidst a function. On the occasion, the Rajendra Subedi Memorial Society has conferred the Rajendra Subedi Memorial Literature Award on Modnath Prashrit and and the Rajendra Subedi Art Award to Man Bahadur Mukhiya.
The chief guest of the program, Prof. Dr. Chudamani Bandhu, honored the awardees.
Dhir Kumar Shrestha highlighted the award-winning personalities, while the congratulatory speech was delivered by Dinesh DC, Chairman of the Film Development Board, and Kushma Mahara, Member Secretary of Nepal Music and Drama Pragya-Pratishthan.
Dr. Ramprasad Gyawali presented a seminar paper on Subedi’s journey towards the criticism sector in literature. Lakshman Prasad Gautam commented on the paper.
Coinciding with the 83rd birth anniversary of the late Subedi, the program was organized.
Modnath Prashit addressed the function on behalf of the awardees, while the children of Shvetasadan Secondary School presented a welcome dance.
Dr. Hari Silwal delivered the welcome speech at the program also attended by Lakshminath Sharma, Senior Director of Cinematography; K. K. Karmacharya, former Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Lalit Kala Pragya Pratishthan; Prof. Dr. Dayaram Shrestha Sambhav; social worker Bhagwatidas Shrestha; educationists Sanjay Bantava; Ramesh Khanal and artist Mukesh Malla.
