Kathmandu, Aug 9: A clash at Kailali District Prison has left one person dead and 47 others injured.
“One person has died in the clash. The deceased has been identified as Bharat Chaudhary of Dhangadhi–4,” DSP Raj Kumar Singh of the Kailali District Police Office told Baharakhari. “He was sent to prison on January 18, 2025, on drug-related charges.”
Chaudhary died while undergoing treatment for his injuries. According to DSP Singh, three of the injured are receiving treatment in the ICU, while the rest are in normal condition.
“The cause of the fight has not yet been determined,” he said.
