On the day of Purnima, the followers of Vedic Sanatan Dharma take a bath in rivers, lakes, ponds and ponds and tie a sacred thread from the Guru. It is a religious belief that the Taghadhari receives protection from the negative elements if they wear the Yogyapavit and doro (thread), which are ritually chanted by the Guru Purohit.
The Newar community observes the day by drinking Quati soup. Quati is a soup made with eleven different types of beans. It is a religious and Ayurvedic belief that by cooking food in this way, the body does not get sick, the stomach is cleansed and the heat is transmitted from inside the body by removing the cold felt during the agricultural work throughout the year.

Meanwhile, in the Tarai area of Nepal, on this day, sisters tie Rakhi to their brothers. There is a social belief that it increases the love between sisters and brothers. Now this tradition has started to grow in the hilly areas as well.
