Kathmandu, August 8: Seven Nepali people have died in the floods in Uttarakhanda, India. Thirteen Nepali nationals from Kushe Municipality-2, Talegaon, Jajarkot, who had gone to Uttarakhand for labor work, went missing in floods. Out of them, seven have died and the rest are missing. On Tuesday, floods in the Harsil Valley in the Uttarkashi District of Uttarakhand, India, caused extensive damage to property and life in Dharali village.
The deceased have been identified as 42-year-old Karan Bahadur Singh, 42-year-old Ram Bahadur Singh, 45-year-old Man Bahadur Singh, 35-year-old Nim Bahadur Singh, 24-year-old Ravin Singh and 24-year-old Janak Bahadur Shahi.
The village issued a condolence statement on Thursday, informing that more than 13 people were out of contact. Kushe village has drawn the government's attention to take initiatives through the Government of Nepal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to make the search and rescue operation of missing Nepali citizens in India effective.
