A recent event has become a hot topic on China’s internet.
On July 25, the court made its first-instance judgment on the “sexual harassment incident at Wuhan University Library”. The court held that it could not be determined that the male student surnamed Xiao had carried out sexual harassment against a specific individual and thus rejected the accusation made by the female student surnamed Yang.
The general content of this incident is as follows: On a certain day in 2023 at the library of Wuhan University, a 19-year-old male student named Xiao had just entered the university campus. Due to having eczema on his private parts, he scratched his private area while studying in the library. Afterwards, Yang, a senior student from Wuhan University, noticed Xiao’s actions. After Yang noticed Xiao’s behavior, she secretly filmed it. During two hours, she captured a total of five videos of Xiao scratching his private parts.
After posting these five videos, she then walked up to Xiao and said that Xiao was masturbating in front of her, which was a form of sexual harassment towards her. And she had already recorded the video as evidence.
Seeing these assertive accusations from the senior student and the numerous videos recorded by the senior, the 19-year-old freshman Xiao became panicked. Due to a lack of experience in handling such matters and having a submissive personality, he probably wanted to quickly resolve the situation or didn’t want others to know that he had eczema on his private parts. Xiao chose to compromise and apologize. After seeing Xiao’s compromise and apology, Ms. Yang became even more excited. So she coaxed Xiao, saying that if you could write an apology letter for me, then this matter would be over.
Xiao believed what the senior Yang said and actually wrote an apology letter. However, after receiving the apology letter, Yang immediately took the letter and spread it on the internet, claiming that Xiao had committed “remote sexual harassment” towards her in the library. She also attached a video showing Xiao touching her private parts. This incident immediately caused a huge stir.
At that time, due to the apology letter and the video, Yang received overwhelming support online. A group of netizens began to expose Xiao online. His information was “exposed” through “reverse image search”, photos were made into portraits and wreaths for dissemination, his home address was revealed, and at the same time, Xiao was falsely accused of being a “son of a government official who was admitted to Wuhan University by special recommendation”. His grandfather died due to being stimulated by the abusive messages, and his grandfather-in-law also became in a vegetative state due to this incident…
Later, Wuhan University, under the pressure of public opinion, gave Xiao a demerit and deprived him of his eligibility for graduate admission. However, even so, the senior student Yang was still not satisfied. She continued to pursue Xiao.
She ostentatiously boasted about her “successful application for a graduate program, passing the law exam, and being admitted as a doctoral student in law by Hong Kong Baptist University”. At the same time, she also mocked Xiao”for having difficulties in applying for a graduate program” on the internet.
Even after the court ruled that Xiao was innocent, Yang still publicly declared on the internet that she would continue to expose Xiao, making sure that Xiao would have no room for development in his studies and career.
Yang carried out these paranoid and even insane actions, claiming that she was defending her rights. Lesson to learn by Nepalis: There are a large number of INGOs/NGOs active in Nepal. Given the small size of the country, the sheer number of such INGOs/NGOs is astonishing. It is now known worldwide that some Western INGOs are specifically sent to other countries to carry out color revolutions. In essence, they are using the guise of protecting and promoting individual rights to divide the societies of other countries, keeping them engaged in ethnic conflict. This is something that deserves vigilance.
