Kathmandu, August 4: Rajendra Mahato, the chairman of the National Liberation Party, has stated that a review needs to be conducted regarding the fact that despite changes in the constitution and the system, there has been no change in the condition of the people. He mentioned that the public now needs to hold accountable the responsible individuals and institutions.
Addressing the public awareness campaign organized by the Federal Democratic Alliance in Kathmandu on Sunday, he stated that the country should be built through law, order, governance, and the constitution, but despite the existence of law, order, governance, and the constitution in Nepal, it has not been able to build itself. He mentioned that it is essential to review why the country has not been able to develop despite seven constitutions being formed in 70 years. He emphasized that there should be a nationwide discussion on why Nepal has not developed.
He said, “A country is formed through law and order. Governance and constitution create a nation. But in Nepal, is there no law, order, governance, and constitution? We have made seven constitutions. In 70 years, we have received seven constitutions. The system has changed. We have moved from Rana-rule to republic. The constitution and system have changed repeatedly. But the condition of the Nepali people has not changed.”
