
Kathmandu. The Prime Minister and ministers have been given the rights to fix their salaries and other allowances. After the Federal Parliament passed the 'Some Nepal Laws Amendment Bill', the Cabinet received the authority to determine salaries.
President Ram Chandra Paudel has certified this bill on July 30. According to the amended law, the Council of Ministers can now publish information in the Nepal Gazette to determine the salary and privileges of the Prime Minister and ministers.
The government had reviewed the salaries and benefits of the Prime Minister and ministers on Magh 22, 2077 BS. The provision for the remuneration of the Prime Minister to ministers is published in the 8th edition of the Operational Guidelines of 2077 BS, which was approved on Magh 22, 2077 BS.
Current salary and benefits (as per the 2077 operational directive): Prime Minister: Monthly 94,280 (salary 77,280, inflation allowance 2,000, communication 5,000, miscellaneous 10,000), 306 liters of petrol, 34 staff, daily travel allowance 3,000.
Deputy Prime Minister: Monthly 84,640 (including salary 75,640), 306 liters of petrol, 8 staff).
Minister: Monthly 79,230 (salary, miscellaneous 3,500, inflation allowance 1,000, communication 3,000), 207 liters of petrol, 7 staff.
State Minister: Monthly 75,030 (including salary 67,030), 200 liters of petrol, 7 staff).
