Kathmandu, July 29: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation has unveiled the new Tourism Policy 2082. The announcement was made on Monday at Singha Durbar by Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Pandey.

While unveiling the policy, Minister Pandey emphasized the government’s intent to move forward in partnership with the private sector. He stated that positive outcomes can only be achieved when the private sector takes the lead, which is why it has been placed at the center of the government’s tourism strategy.

The minister also noted that the Culture Policy and the Aviation Policy are currently under discussion in the bill section of the Council of Ministers, and that the ministry has already advanced 13 legislative proposals.

Highlighting the features of the new Tourism Policy 2082—which replaces the previous policy from 2065 BS—Minister Pandey shared that the phrase “Unique Tourism Destination: Nepal” has been incorporated as a core vision. He stated that the policy aims to position Nepal as an attractive, lifelong experience while ensuring it is a safe, reliable, and sustainable destination.
