We saw former Crown Princess Himani Shah and her son Prince Hirdyeandra visiting remote parts of the country, Jumla and Mugu and laying foundation stone for the construction of a birthing center and inaugurating a pond constructed for irrigation of land. The birthing center is being constructed by the Himani Trust, an NGO run by members of the Royal Family and a pond constructed for irrigation was funded by the Prabhu Shumsher and Raji Rajya Laxmi Rana Trust, established by Raji Rana with her private property.
On the other hand, we saw the government allotting the taxpayers’ money to different foundations established in the name of deceased leaders of the Nepali Congress and UML. In the recently presented budget for the new fiscal year, the Finance Minister has allotted funds for these foundations. Around one billion rupees are allotted to these foundations. Moreover, Minister for Urban Development, Prakashman Singh, son of the late Ganeshman Singh and Mangaladevi, has allotted the government funds for the foundations established in his father and mother. Minister Singh might have felt that he made a big contribution but he has exploited the taxpayers’ money in the country where people are dying, even not getting a tablet of Cetamol.
What could be a better example of looters than the act of the leaders in the government?
Great King Prithivi Narayan Shah on banknotes
UML’s MP Surya Thapa has suggested that the Nepal Rastra Bank’s governor place the image of Great King Prithivi Narayan Shah, unifier of modern Nepal, in the bank notes honoring the contribution made by him.
It is a great idea. Hopefully, the central bank will respond positively.

A group of students known to be the ‘bright’ student leaders of the Nepal Bidhyarthi Sangh vandalized the office of the vice-chancellor of Tribhuvan University. At first, the security didn’t dare to arrest them. Later, after the TU administration filed a case against them along with the CC Camera’s visual record, some of the leaders were arrested but after the pressure from the NC leaders in the government, they were released from police custody. After all, the students leading the Sangh are above the law.
QUOTES OF THE WEEK
Nepalese politics has become the world's best laboratory where the flag of Bhagbanda is also flown on the throne of justice; judges are selected according to the political quota; the education sector becomes a party propaganda tool instead of a center for teaching and learning; a murderer becomes an 'activist', and gets a presidential pardon.

We demand democracy in politics and society. But why did all the editors in the newsroom and the media look for dictatorship? It wants an answer.

Lord Buddha taught the world to walk on the path of peace, non-violence and truth. In the same country, the leaders are teaching the world how to get involved in corruption and get rid of laws.

The Nepali Congress and UML have not been able to do anything except from exporting the Nepali youths in the past three decades, that NC president Sher Bahadur Deuba has accepted.

They said that during the King’s era, they couldn't read. The fact is that 90% of public schools, colleges and hospitals were established during the Panchayat period. After 2046 BS, there has been a significant increase in the private education, health and real estate sectors. The other fact is that the government is focused on exporting youths rather than protecting industries.

The formation of a government by the first largest and the second largest parties in parliament is unnatural, indecent and contrary to the essence of the mandate in parliamentary politics. When the third largest party also supports the government, politics becomes a dirty place. We saw it in Nepal.

Earlier Ramesh Lekhak used to say in the parliament that even if one MP protests, the parliament should be considered as obstructed.
Now, all the MPs from the Rastriya Swatantra Party are protesting the Parliament session, the meetings are being continued without a shame. Earlier Ramesh Lekhak used to say in the parliament that even if one MP protests, the parliament should be considered as obstructed.

During that time (Panchayat era), there was a public security act, which was used for arresting individuals. Similarly, cybercrime and the Electronic Trading Act are being used today to arrest people. If the district courts fail to take cognizance in time, our fundamental rights on freedom of speech will be abducted.

Even after the collapse of the nation from all sides, we, so-called intellectuals and civic society members remain inside the hole like a mouse!

One can become a minister only after submitting 100 million rupees in this Republicanism! One will be rewarded not by his policies and capabilities but by paying cash.

Even if it is small, efforts made by the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) to give a sense of parliament are commendable at a time when the Parliament has turned into a shadow of the government.
Parliament is the supreme representative of the people. The government should be fully accountable to the parliament. I wish RSP and Rastriya Swatantra Party get success in breaking the ego and arrogance of the government/ministers.
