Kathmandu, May 27: The Nepali Congress has made it clear that it will not take responsibility for all the statements made by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Nepali Congress spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, speaking to the media after a meeting of the party's office bearers, said that the Congress will not take responsibility for PM Oli's irresponsible statements.

Indicating the May 29 movement scheduled to be launched by the pro-monarchy groups, spokesperson Mahat expressed the view that the Nepali Congress is in favor of protecting the constitution but not in favor of keeping under control the Kathmandu Valley by a particular political party.

He said, "The Prime Minister is also the leader of the UML party. We are not responsible for everything he said. We are not in favor of occupation." "We are in favor of defending the constitution as a whole. We can protest using the rights granted by the constitution, we can express our views, we must do so peacefully. But we are convinced it is wrong to go against the constitution itself."
