
Kathmandu, May 25: Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has stated that her recently concluded five-day visit to Japan was fruitful.
After returning home last night from her visit to Japan, she informed that she had various important meetings, including with Japan's Foreign Minister, and discussions about Nepal-Japan cooperation and various projects during her visit. Her secretariat stated that these meetings were fruitful for the country.
Minister Dr. Deuba said, "During this visit, various aspects of Nepal-Japan relations as well as Japan's assistance and projects in Nepal were discussed. Similarly, at the conference, we had the opportunity to learn about the policies adopted by other countries regarding senior citizens, their conditions, and systems."
Minister Deuba and Japan's Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa had a bilateral meeting in Tokyo on May 22. During that meeting, they discussed various topics related to Nepal-Japan bilateral relations, mutual interests, and shared concerns.
Similarly, Minister Deuba also met with Dr. Tanaka Akihiko, Chairman of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), on May 23. During that meeting, Minister Deuba expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the Japanese government through JICA in various sectors, including economic and social areas, over a long period of time, and discussed the projects implemented and completed in Nepal with JICA's support.
While in Japan, Minister Deuba participated in an international conference on senior citizens held in Tokyo and addressed it on behalf of Nepal. After completing her visit to Japan, Minister Deuba returned home last night. She was welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport by officials, including Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She had gone to Japan last Monday.
