
Kathmandu, May 23: A writ petition has been submitted at the Supreme Court demanding the suspension of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak. Legal practitioner Madhu Chamlagain has filed a petition at the Supreme Court demanding Lekhak’s suspension on the charge of taking bribes through a setting at the Immigration Office in the Tribhuvan International Airport.
The immigration officers at TIA were involved in human trafficking for illegal works in the Gulf countries, sending them with visit visas. The Home Minister’s secretariat was directly involved in assigning immigration officers at the TIA with the commitment of submitting five million rupees daily.
The writ is yet to be formally registered at the Supreme Court.
